Mission Statment
Our Purpose
Mount Pleasant Co-op exists to support homeschooling families by offering flexible, Christ-centered educational opportunities that enrich and supplement home education—not replace it. We are not a school, and we do not offer a complete or rigid curriculum. Instead, we operate as a cooperative community: families come together to offer and participate in classes that might otherwise be unavailable in a home setting.
We aim to:
- Provide academic and enrichment courses
- Foster friendship and fellowship among students and families
- Equip parents by supporting their role as the primary educators of their children
Schedule
Most classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, though some teachers may offer classes on other days if needed. Classes take place either at the cabin or in individual homes, as noted on the schedule.
Because we offer so many classes, parents are encouraged to be selective to avoid over-scheduling themselves or their children.
Orientation
Orientation is required for all families before enrolling in classes.
- Date: July 14, 2025
- Time: 7:00 p.m.
- Location: The cabin
At least one parent (mother or father) and all students ages 8 and up must attend or watch the recorded session before registering. Mothers (or fathers) must attend with their own children; sister-wives may not attend with another mother's children. Orientation will review expectations for behavior, class participation, and respect for teachers and facilities. It will also explain the website and the registration process. As part of orientation, parents will be asked to sign a parent agreement, and all students 8 and above will be asked to sign a student behavior contract.

Enrollment
Classes are à la carte: students choose what works best for them. Students are encouraged to select their own classes—not the parents. This increases accountability and class engagement. Students may take as many or as few classes as desired but should not sign up for more than they can commit to.
To register:
1. Create a website account
2. Attend orientation on July 14, 2025 at 7:00 at the cabin or watch the recording.
3. Sign the Parent Agreement and the Student Behavior Contract
4. Register for classes online. Registration will open on July 16, 2025 for teachers, board members, and staff and on July 18, 2025 for all other registrants.
Fees & Payments
Each mother’s family pays a yearly $15 registration fee to cover website costs. Each class has its own fee, determined by the teacher based on supplies, books, or activities. Teachers will usually purchase all necessary books and supplies unless otherwise noted in the class description. If you'd prefer to buy your own books, contact the teacher directly.
Class fees should be paid directly to the teacher unless otherwise noted. All fees are due by August 12, 2025. Payment options include Venmo, cash or check, and on the website via PayPal. Some of our teachers are also Harmony and/or UFA vendors. Each teacher will indicate in their class description which types of payment they accept.
Facility Use
Please treat the cabin and its grounds with respect. The chapel and its restroom are off-limits unless an adult is present. Use only the designated classrooms and restrooms. Clean up after yourself.
Lunch
Lunch is not provided. Students must bring their own or return home between classes. There will be a lunch break from 12:15-12:45 on Tuesday and from 12:00-12:30 on Thursday. The physics class does run into the lunch hour on Tuesday, so the physics students will take their lunch break from 12:30-1:00.
Concerns & Withdrawals
If you have a concern about a class, please speak directly with the teacher first. If your student needs to withdraw from a class, contact the teacher. Parents will be able to withdraw their students from classes on the website up to the first day of school, but after that, you'll have to contact the teacher and have them remove you manually. Refunds are not available once books or supplies have been purchased.
